Project overview
This project examined how permaculture systems manage energy and resources, drawing on principles found in natural ecosystems and regenerative agriculture. The report covered solar energy, biomass, water management and nutrient cycling, alongside practical approaches such as passive solar design, composting and rainwater collection.
It reviewed examples from Zaytuna Farm in Australia, Finca Luna Nueva in Costa Rica and Vallis Veg in the UK, looking at their resource management practices and approaches to sustainability.
From an electrical engineering perspective, the study explored how renewable generation, energy storage, grid integration, load management and automated monitoring and control could contribute to these systems. The focus was on understanding the connection between ecological design and electrical engineering, particularly in reducing resource consumption and dependence on external energy sources.
